On March 10, 2016 Macedonia decided to definitively close the entrances to migrants from Greece. The choice was made as a result of similar decision of the Slovenian, Croatian and Serbian governments, between 8th and 9th March, which permanently blocked the main road into Europe, disrupting the flow of refugees and migrants who, in the last two years, through the so-called "Balkan route" led to EU countries, mainly to Germany, hundreds of thousands of people.
