In the last few years in Naples and its surroundings a veritable explosion of street art is taking place. From the historic center to the most peripheral neighborhoods, there are numerous works by Italian and foreign street artists that color the streets. The work of which Naples is perhaps the most proud is the so-called "Madonna with the gun" by the anonymous British artist "Banksy", who is considered today the most famous exponent of street art in the world. Murals, stencils and graffiti are proving to be a real tourist attraction, so much that there are so many street art tours that can be done with a specialized guide, to learn more about the works in the city. In some more peripheral areas instead, as in Ponticelli, street art has developed as a tool of social redemption and urban redevelopment, as in the case of the "park of murals".
